This post is all about Peperomia obtusifolia propagation. Recently I have obtusifolia. The leaves are turning yellow and it is growing in a funky shape. I’ll admit, it is not fair to come down on a plant because of my care errors. All the same, one solution to this problem is propagation. With propagation, you can take an unattractive plant and make it new again.
Peperomia obtusifolia propagation is fairly simple and can be done in a few different ways. Leaf cuttings, stem cuttings, or pieces of leaves. I am going to work with stem cuttings and leaf cuttings, as these prove to be most successful.
Start with cutting off a small piece of stem with leaves. Cut under a node and leave some stem. This time around I am going to use some rooting hormone. I don’t always use rooting hormone, but I want to speed up the process a bit. If you want to give this rooting hormone a try, check it out here on Amazon.
To figure out which process works best I am going to place a couple of leaves and stems in water and soil. Let’s see which one will yield the best results.
It only took a few weeks and suddenly I had an explosion of roots in the water. After a quick pull test of the cuttings in soil, I find that I have roots there as well. The soil roots aren’t as robust, but I think the will work just fine.
